The Live More Lightly Project can be divided into six major sections, each with many sub-categories:

  1. The Song, written by Victoria Gibson
  2. The Workshop/Performance
  3. Book/CD, arrangements by Eric Hominick
  4. Tour ‘08
  5. Interactive Internet
  6. Documentary Film

Each one of these sections requires funding and organizing. At present,  there has been no funding for the Live More Lightly Tour ‘08, so I am being forced to cut back the scope of the tour. All of the organization and administration adds one more category, but not one that is usually too interesting to the reading public. I will be posting a Tasks List like this one for November, mainly so I can keep to a schedule of sorts.
Please let me know if you are with a choir or community group that may want to do a workshop with me and possibly take the song to performance. Everyone in a group does not have to sing, as I can fill in the parts with those who do sing, and testimonies can be spoken. The workshop takes about two hours depending on the size of the group. Larger groups take more time because I want everyone to have a chance to give their testimony.

“The Live More Lightly Songbook and Workshop Guide”  is now two multi-media books. The first one to be published will contain sheet music of the basic arrangement of the song, one with piano accompaniment and one with simple guitar chords. There will be a section of suggestions for sustainable actions that can be done and some of them will be organized into examples of rhyming couplets. I also hope to include some photo pages of inspiring natural scenes. The disk for this version will include workshop support materials, such as posters, handouts, flyers and brochures that can be personalized with workshop information. The disk will also include the recorded accompaniment (piano or guitar) and a recording of the song. The instrumental parts will be optimized for rehearsal purposes and the vocal part may be included or removed as required. The workshop should be easy to present, even if a group is not musically trained.

The Choral Edition will be the second edition of the book and it should be released in 200, after workshops are done with volunteer choirs to beta test the score.

In 2008, I hope to do a short tour, possibly to Calgary and have the bike ready and the video in place.  The weather can turn treacherous in October, so I plan to return to Vancouver before the mountains become inhospitable to motorcyclists. The tour across Canada is scheduled for 2009 depending on funding and workshop bookings.

I will be starting to do workshops in Vancouver, and I hope to post some video here soon.
